Seekopf

The Seekopf summit stands at 1173 meters in elevation and features steep descents on its western side and gradual transitions towards the east.

During the Pleistocene period, the Seekopf mountain maintained a connection to Schlösselschneid until the Seetraun glacier shaped its current form.

The mountain sits within the Eastern Chiemgau Alps Nature Reserve, established in 1955, which spans an area of approximately 100 square kilometers.

The hiking trail starts near the B304 road, one kilometer past Gastatte Seehaus, and requires about three hours to complete the 14.7-kilometer round trip.

Stone markers called Steinmanner guide hikers along the paths, while the western wall rises above Förchensee lake at an altitude of 739 meters.
