Elisabethsee

The Elisabethsee stretches 185 meters in length and 45 meters in width, covering 0.66 hectares of water surface at 115 meters above sea level.

In the 1960s, a local farmer transformed unsuitable agricultural land by damming Eickumer Mühlenbach creek, naming the resulting lake after his daughter Elisabeth.

The lake grounds feature multiple sports facilities, including beach volleyball, basketball courts, and petanque areas where visitors participate in recreational activities.

The camping area spans 78,000 square meters with 400 pitches, offering accommodation options from tents to chalets, plus a restaurant in a converted farm building.

The lake maintains bathing quality standards with a maximum depth of 2.8 meters and receives supervision from Bielefelder DLRG during weekends and summer holidays.
