Gut Füchtel

Gut Füchtel is an estate in Vechta surrounded by a double moat system enclosing a rectangular area with rounded corners. The property features several timber-framed buildings on boulder foundations that retain their historical character.

The original manor house was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, and a servants' house from the early 17th century was later converted into the main residence. This transformation shaped the estate's structure as it exists today.

The property contains five themed apartments featuring different regional styles, from Mediterranean to Scottish-Irish designs, all set within the historical framework. Each residence reflects distinct regional traditions and invites visitors to experience varied living aesthetics.

The property is surrounded by hiking trails offering various routes through the landscape suitable for both short and longer outings. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and choose paths based on weather conditions, as they pass through open fields and wooded areas.

A chapel tower was added to the garden side of the residence in 1754, integrating thoughtfully with the overall composition. This addition documents a later expansion and shows how the building complex evolved gradually over the centuries.
