Rittergut Völkershausen

Rittergut Völkershausen is a two-story half-timbered mansion with decorative facades and outbuildings built from pink sandstone situated along the Werra River. The complex includes a patronage church and historic park with mature trees integrated into the overall estate layout.

The estate's origins trace to the 13th century, though the current structures were rebuilt after destruction in 1630 during the Thirty Years' War. The manor took its present form following this reconstruction period.

The estate contains a patronage church functioning as both the manor chapel and the village church, creating a direct link between the resident family and the community. This arrangement reflects how the landowner's religious life and local worship were intertwined in daily practice.

The estate functions as an event venue with capacity for 80 to 180 guests indoors and up to 350 guests in the castle park for celebrations and ceremonies. The location offers established facilities for hosting private gatherings.

The manor house connects directly to the church tower through an internal passage, allowing the family to enter the chapel without leaving the residence. This architectural solution reflects how personal devotion and family privacy were woven into the estate's design.
