U-Bahnhof Beimoor, Ghost station in Großhansdorf, Germany.
U-Bahnhof Beimoor is an abandoned subway station in Großhansdorf with a roughly 60-meter platform. Access is provided through staircases and an entrance hall that is partially covered.
Construction began in 1915 as part of the planned Walddörfer line extension. After World War I, the project stalled due to financial constraints and political obstacles that prevented it from ever opening.
The site now shelters bats that use it as a winter refuge and resting place. The abandoned rail facility has transformed into a protected sanctuary where these animals find the conditions they need.
The station sits roughly one kilometer north of the current U1 line terminus at Großhansdorf. Visitor access to the interior is restricted and only authorized personnel enter to monitor the resident wildlife.
The station was never opened to the public and now serves entirely as a nature conservation site. It stands as one of the few preserved examples of interrupted infrastructure projects from this era.
