Brücke der Erinnerung, Memorial in Harlesiel, Germany

The Brücke der Erinnerung is a memorial at Harlesiel harbour in the East Frisian town of Wittmund, Lower Saxony. It consists of a reconstructed ship's stern where visitors lay flowers and a bench for sitting, with a lantern burning permanently as a symbolic guide. Steel plaques on steles record names, birth and death dates and burial coordinates.

The memorial was founded in 2016 to provide families a place to mourn relatives who were buried at sea. It honors the region's long maritime burial tradition.

Families can have stainless-steel plaques mounted on steles at the memorial, inscribed with the deceased's name, birth and death dates, and the burial coordinates. The site is aligned toward the sea burial area between Spiekeroog and Wangerooge.

The memorial stands at Harlesieler Hafen harbour, aligned toward the sea burial ground between Spiekeroog and Wangerooge. Visitors can sit on the bench at the reconstructed ship stern and lay flowers there. A lantern burns continuously as a symbolic guide.
