Automuseum Wolfegg, Automobile museum in Wolfegg, Germany
Automuseum Wolfegg is a collection of automobiles and motorcycles housed in the historic buildings of Wolfegg Castle. More than 80 cars and roughly 40 motorized two-wheelers are arranged across about 3000 square meters of exhibition space.
Collector Fritz B. Busch founded the museum in 1973 with support from Prince Max Willibald von Waldburg-Wolfegg. The castle provided the necessary spaces and suitable setting for the private vehicle collections.
The exhibition shows vehicles that shaped daily life in Germany over several decades. The collection reveals how people got around and what technologies were part of their everyday routines.
Plan your visit for the warmer months when the museum offers extended hours from April through November. Winter months bring shorter opening times, so factor this into your scheduling if you are considering an off-season trip.
The museum houses the world's largest collection of single-wheel trailers, many equipped with wood gas technology. This specialized collection is rarely found elsewhere and makes the place particularly interesting for enthusiasts of vintage vehicle engineering.
