The stone dates back to the Saale glacial period and originated from Scandinavia, with geologists estimating the rock material to be one billion years old.
The boulder received its official name in May 2021 following a public naming contest, becoming a recognized natural monument in the Emsland region of Lower Saxony.

This massive boulder ranks as the fourth largest glacial erratic in Lower Saxony and remained hidden underground until its discovery and excavation in 2020.
