Rhodter Rosengarten

The Rhodter Rosengarten vineyard spans 96 hectares across the southern part of Rhineland-Palatinate, extending 2.2 kilometers east to west and 600 meters north to south.

The vineyard existed before the Thirty Years' War of 1618-1648, with wine production in the region dating back to Roman times and flourishing during the Middle Ages.

The village retains 80 percent of its historic monuments, featuring traditional winegrowers' houses and architecture from the prosperous wine trading period of the 1600s.

The current vineyard produces between 150 and 300 liters of wine annually from approximately 300 vines, primarily Traminer grapes with some Silvaner varieties.

The vineyard holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously producing vineyard in the Palatinate region, with vines over 400 years old still bearing fruit.
