St. Augustine's College, all-male academic institution in Cape Coast, Ghana
St. Augustine's College is a boys secondary school in Cape Coast, in Ghana's Central Region, open to both day and boarding students. The campus includes classrooms, science labs, a library, an ICT lab, and sports fields.
The school was founded in 1930 as the first Catholic boys school in Ghana, starting out in Amissano near Elmina. Over the following decades it grew into one of the country's recognized secondary schools.
The college shapes the local community through its long presence and reputation for discipline and work ethic. School identity is visible in the colors, mascot, and twelve houses where students live together and build community.
The school runs a Double Track system, so visits outside official events are best arranged in advance with the administration. Classes run Monday through Friday, and the school day starts early in the morning.
The school has regularly finished among the top teams at the Ghana National Science and Maths Quiz, a national competition that draws attention across the country. Its mascot is the hippo, and students are divided into 12 houses, each with its own identity within the school.
