Souli Municipality

Souli Municipality is an administrative division in the Thesprotia Regional Unit made up of three smaller administrative units: Acherontas, Paramythia, and Souli. The territory includes several villages and settlements spread across hilly and mountainous terrain.

In the early 19th century, the region served as a refuge for people fleeing from political pressure and foreign control. The mountainous landscape offered them shelter and became a center of resistance and self-governance.

Settlements throughout the area keep local traditions alive through music and dancing at community gatherings. These customs link people across generations and show how the municipality honors its roots.
