Psyttaleia, Uninhabited island in Saronic Gulf, Greece.

Persian forces established a garrison on the island in 480 BC during preparations for the Battle of Salamis. The Athenian general Aristides later defeated and executed these troops in a turning point of the conflict.
The medieval name Lipsokoutali, meaning half-spoon, derived from the island's shape when observed from Mount Aigaleo.
The island is not accessible to tourists as it operates under security restrictions. You can view it from Piraeus Harbor or nearby vantage points along the coast.
A lighthouse and a Hellenic Coast Guard Vessel Traffic Service station occupy the northeastern section of the island. These facilities monitor shipping routes through one of Europe's busiest ports.
