Aquaworld Aquarium, Marine life and reptile center in Hersonissos, Greece
The aquarium displays Mediterranean fish species alongside rescued reptiles in several interconnected rooms with specialized habitats and observation areas.
Scottish naturalist John Bryce McLaren established this educational facility in 1995, making it the first aquarium on the island of Crete.
The facility promotes environmental education through direct animal interactions, allowing visitors to learn about marine conservation and wildlife rehabilitation.
Located 100 meters from Bus Stop 205, the aquarium opens Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 17:15, with adult tickets priced at 10 euros.
The center functions as a sanctuary for former pet reptiles and injured marine animals, providing them with permanent care in supervised environments.
