Archæological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Komotini occupies a modern building designed by architect Aris Konstantinidis, with clean lines and well-organized exhibition spaces throughout. The layout makes it easy for visitors to move through the collections and examine artifacts in a logical order.

A highlight of the collection is a golden bust of the Roman emperor Septimius Severus, an exceptionally rare object from antiquity. Equally noteworthy is a marble grave marker from Dikaia that reveals how local people honored their deceased.
