Lake Vouliagmeni

Lake Vouliagmeni is a natural thermal lake near Athens fed by freshwater springs and warm underground sources. The water maintains a steady warmth throughout the seasons, creating favorable conditions for swimming and bathing.

The lake formed roughly 2000 years ago when a cave system collapsed beneath the surface during an earthquake. This geological shift created the basin that filled with water and became the place we see today.

For centuries, locals have regarded this place as a natural spa and meeting point where the community gathers year-round. The tradition of thermal bathing here remains deeply rooted in how people spend their leisure time.
