Athens Circuit, racing track in Megara, Attica region, Greece
The Athens Circuit is a 2100-meter racing track located in Megara outside Athens city center. The track features tight turns, short straightaways, and a functional design with paved surfaces and spectator areas.
The circuit was conceived by Christos Anastasiades in 1994 and opened in 1998 after four years of construction, making it Greece's first permanent racing track. Over time it attracted major manufacturers like McLaren and Ferrari, becoming a center for local motorsport activity.
The track bears Athens' name and reflects Greece's growing motorsport culture. Visitors witness a community of drivers and enthusiasts gathered around their passion for high-speed driving and racing.
The venue is located about 35 kilometers from Athens and is easily accessible via the E94 highway, with a railway station on-site for visitors without cars. Visitors can book driving experiences, take instruction courses, or simply attend racing events, as the track regularly opens for track day activities.
The track has six right turns and four left turns with the longest straightaway under 600 meters, making it resemble a giant go-kart track rather than a traditional raceway. A dedicated go-kart facility next to the main circuit makes the venue particularly suitable for beginners and young drivers.
