The sanctuary features a small temple, courtyard, altar, and a four-sided building situated along the ancient route to Eleusis.
The Greek traveler Pausanias mentioned this religious site during his journey to Eleusina, confirming its presence in ancient times.
The rock formation contains carved niches where worshippers placed offerings including sculptures of Aphrodite, doves, pomegranates, and anatomical votives.
The northern section of the ancient road leading to the sanctuary served pedestrians, while the southern part shows marks from chariot transportation.
Inscriptions found within the niches reveal that women made most of the offerings, though some male names appear in the dedications.
