Mouseio Bouboulinas, Biographical museum in Spetses, Greece.
Mouseio Bouboulinas is a historic residence on the island of Spetses that preserves history and objects from daily life. The interior displays weapons, maps, antique books, porcelain, documents, and furniture spanning four centuries.
A descendant of the family established the museum in 1991 in a house that was already 350 years old. This step was important to preserve the property and its contents for the future.
The museum tells the story of Laskarina Bouboulina, a woman who commanded ships during the Greek War of Independence in 1821. The rooms show how she lived and what role she played in that period.
The building offers guided tours in many languages, making it easy to understand the objects and stories. A 300-square-meter garden surrounds the property and is used for cultural events, providing a place to rest.
The grand salon features an original Florentine ceiling from an earlier period. This artfully designed room was a key reason why the property was preserved as a museum.
