Glarakis school complex

The Glarakis school complex consists of two primary schools, the 8th and 9th, featuring marble staircases and spacious hallways decorated with mosaic patterns.

Construction of the educational facility began in 1930 on land donated by the Glarakis family, with architectural plans created by George I. Petritsopoulos in 1931.

The complex honors Georgios Glarakis, a 19th-century Greek scholar who served as minister of Achaea prefecture and contributed to establishing the University of Athens.

In 2022, the Region of Western Greece invested 1.1 million euros for energy upgrades and autonomy improvements throughout the school complex.

Former students recall the sandy courtyard where children played traditional games without modern equipment, surrounded by bright corridors and large classrooms.
