Athens International Airport Archaeological Collection, Archaeological museum in Athens International Airport, Greece.

The Athens International Airport Archaeological Collection is housed in the main terminal and displays around 177 objects discovered during airport construction. The artifacts were found on land that was previously used for farming before the airport was built.

The collection spans from the Neolithic period through the Post-Byzantine era, containing pottery, tools, and everyday household items. This long time span shows that people lived on this land across many centuries before it became an airport.

The collection displays pottery vessels, spindle whorls, plates, beads, tiles, and Byzantine coins that show how people lived in ancient times. These objects come from settlements that once stood on this land before the airport was constructed.

The museum is located on the second floor of the main terminal and is free to visit for both travelers and other guests. The location outside the security checkpoint makes it easy to stop by before your flight or while waiting.

A large storage jar from Roman times, found during excavation on the eastern side of the airport grounds, sits outside the exhibition hall. This impressive container shows how people in this region stored their supplies long ago.
