Théâtre du Gymnase Marie Bell

The Théâtre du Gymnase Marie Bell is a theatre building in Paris's 10th arrondissement featuring an Italian-style auditorium with seating for around 800 people. A grand peristyle was added to the structure during 19th century renovations, creating the distinctive facade you see today.

Architect Auguste Rougevin designed the building in 1820 as a practice space for students from the nearby Conservatory. It gradually transformed into a prominent performance venue for established artists and writers.

The theatre served as a gathering place where Parisian audiences experienced drama and comedy within refined surroundings. Its Italian-style interior created an intimate setting that allowed spectators to connect closely with performances on stage.
