Charade Circuit

Charade Circuit is a racing track in Saint-Genès-Champanelle built around an extinct volcano, stretching roughly 4 kilometers with numerous elevation changes and technical turns throughout. The natural volcanic landscape shapes the entire layout, making the track physically challenging.

The original 8-kilometer track opened in 1958 and hosted four Formula One French Grand Prix races before being shortened and reconfigured in 1989. This change transformed how the circuit functioned as a racing venue.

The track connects deeply to French motorsport tradition through regular displays of classic cars and vintage racing events. You can feel this connection to racing heritage when you walk around and see the historic vehicles on the circuit.
