Clos de Vougeot

Cistercian monks from Cîteaux Abbey established this wine farm in the 12th century, later adding Renaissance elements to the buildings in the 16th century.

The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, a wine brotherhood, maintains their headquarters at the château, organizing wine ceremonies and cultural gatherings throughout the year.

The château opens its doors for guided tours, allowing visitors to explore the medieval wine-making facilities and learn about traditional Burgundian viticulture methods.

The surrounding vineyard spans fifty-one continuous hectares, representing the largest single grand cru designated vineyard in the Côte de Nuits region.
