Gare d'Austerlitz, Railway terminal in 13th arrondissement, France
The railway station features numbered platforms from 1 to 21, with a grand entrance hall facing the Seine River and multiple service counters throughout the building.
Inaugurated in 1840 as Gare d'Orleans, the station received its current name from Napoleon's victory at the Battle of Austerlitz and underwent major reconstruction between 1862 and 1869.
The station building, designed by architect Pierre-Louis Renaud, represents classic 19th-century French railway architecture with its iron framework and spacious passenger halls.
The station connects to metro lines 5 and 10, providing direct access to central Paris, while serving as a main departure point for trains to Toulouse and other southern destinations.
During the 1870 Siege of Paris, the station's large iron hall served as a manufacturing facility for gas balloons used in military operations.
