Château Guiraud

Château Guiraud is a wine estate in Sauternes with about 54 hectares of vineyards where Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes grow. The vineyards spread across sandy, gravelly, and clayey soils on a total property of about 128 hectares.

The property was originally called La Maison Noble du Bayle and came into the hands of Pierre Guiraud, a Bordeaux wine merchant, in 1766. This purchase marked the start of transforming the estate into a recognized wine producer.

The estate is known among wine lovers for producing sweet wines that are valued around the world. It has built a reputation through Sauternes production, a wine style with deep roots in this region.

The estate welcomes visitors year-round and offers vineyard tours, tastings, and dining at its restaurant. You can spend a few hours exploring the vineyards and learning about how the wines are made.

The estate achieved organic certification in 2011, becoming the first of its ranking in the Bordeaux region to do so. This shift reflects a commitment to growing grapes and making wine using environmentally thoughtful methods.
