Château Suduiraut

Château Suduiraut is a Premier Cru Classé winery in the Sauternes region spanning roughly 91 hectares and cultivating three grape varieties: Sémillon, Sauvignon gris, and Sauvignon blanc. The cellar uses modern equipment to support traditional methods while producing about 100,000 bottles annually.

The property was originally known as Cru du Roy before receiving its current name and being included in the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification as a Premier Cru. This ranking solidified its status as one of the region's most important estates.

The estate's name traces back to the 17th century and reflects its former owners, while the cellar still employs traditional winemaking techniques passed down through generations.

Visitors can tour the estate only by prior arrangement and participate in tastings where cellars are explored. It is advisable to book ahead and wear comfortable shoes, as tastings take place both indoors and in the vineyards.

The property sits directly adjacent to the renowned Château d'Yquem and benefits from a microclimate zone that combines features of both sides of the Ciron stream. This special geographical position creates wines that blend the strength of Haut-Sauternes with the fruity notes typical of Preignac and Barsac.
