Viaduc du Pays de Tulle, Girder bridge in Naves, France.
The Viaduc du Pays de Tulle is a road bridge in Naves that crosses the Corrèze valley in a sweeping curve. Its prestressed concrete structure stretches 854 meters long and rises up to 150 meters above the ground below.
The bridge was built between 2000 and 2002 to link the northern and eastern exits of Tulle on the A89 motorway. This construction project provided a vital traffic connection for the region.
The bridge design by architects Charles Lavigne and Alain Montois integrates engineering functionality with structural elements that complement the regional landscape.
The bridge is accessed via the A89 motorway and provides direct passage through the valley for drivers. It is best viewed during daylight hours when the structural details are clearly visible from different angles.
The bridge follows a curved path with a radius of 1,350 meters, giving it a gentle arching form across the landscape. Its tallest support pillar rises 124 meters and ranks among the highest bridge supports in the country.
