Cascades de Gimel, Waterfall series in Corrèze, France
The Cascades de Gimel consists of three successive waterfalls: Le Grand Saut at 45 meters, La Redole at 38 meters, and La Queue de Cheval at 60 meters.
The waterfalls are situated near the ruins of Chateau de la Roche-Haute, a castle from the 14th century that experienced damage during the 1594 Wars of Religion.
The waterfalls were captured in paintings by local artist Gaston Vuillier, who resided in the 19th century Castel mansion overlooking the natural formation.
Visitors can access the waterfalls through a marked trail from March to November, with admission costing 6 euros and parking available near the village center.
La Queue de Cheval, meaning horse's tail, earned its name from the distinctive pattern created by water falling 60 meters in a single continuous stream.
