Mark Kirwan, an Irish merchant, acquired and combined two vineyards in the late 18th century, establishing the foundation for this distinguished wine producer.
The wine classification of 1855 recognized Château Kirwan as one of fourteen Third Growths, cementing its status in French wine heritage.
Visitors can schedule wine tasting sessions, vineyard tours, and workshops directly through the château's website or by contacting the estate office.
In 2023, Château Kirwan expanded its production to include a white wine called Margalais, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown on the estate.
