Rabastens

The commune of Rabastens extends along the banks of the Tarn River, featuring traditional red brick buildings and narrow streets at 95 meters elevation.

In July 1570, during the French Wars of Religion, military commander Blaise de Montluc captured the town and executed the Protestant garrison.

The Notre-Dame-du-Bourg church contains frescoes from the 13th century depicting religious scenes, earning recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Rabastens-Couffouleux train station provides direct connections to Toulouse, Albi, and Rodez, facilitating travel throughout the Occitanie region.
