Walygator Parc

Walygator Parc is an amusement park in Maizières-lès-Metz in northeastern France covering roughly 42 hectares with roller coasters, water rides, and family areas. The space divides into several themed zones with green lawns, pathways, and plazas that visitors explore on foot.

The park opened in 1989 on the site of a former steel mill and initially operated under the name Big Bang Schtroumpf. Over the following decades ownership changed hands several times until the site received its current name and underwent gradual updates.

The park's name changed several times over the years, reflecting different owners and their branding choices. Today many rides carry names from popular culture and films, appealing to both children and adults who visit.

Entry can usually be booked online, which helps avoid longer waits at the entrance. The site is large so wearing comfortable shoes and allowing enough time to visit all zones is a good idea.

Part of the grounds sits on the footprint of a former industrial site, and traces of that past can still be sensed in places. The Monster roller coaster was built by a Swiss manufacturer and has been considered a technical highlight since 2010.
