Château du Haut-Buc, Historic castle in Buc, France

The Château du Haut-Buc stands as a three-story 19th-century structure with a Louis XV balcony and carved niches in the Yvelines department.

The castle served as accommodation for Louis XIV's natural son, the Count of Toulouse, before being destroyed in 1740 and rebuilt between 1864 and 1866.

The castle regularly hosts music festivals, including romantic music performances, opera nights, and rock music workshops throughout the year.

The castle grounds and park remain open to visitors every day, with the main entrance located at 20 Rue Louis Massotte in Buc.

An astronomer named Gentilli di Giuseppe installed a large telescope in the gardens in 1922 during his ownership of the property.
