Golf de Chantaco

Golf de Chantaco is an 18-hole course in Saint-Jean-de-Luz set across gently rolling terrain with strategically placed bunkers and water features that define the layout. The design takes advantage of natural slopes to create challenging holes that demand thoughtful shot selection from players.

The course was founded in 1928, inspired by Simone de la Chaume's victory at the British Open championship in 1927, which motivated her father René Thion de la Chaume to create the facility. This establishment marked the beginning of a golf tradition in the Saint-Jean-de-Luz area.

The club serves as a gathering place for golfers from the region and beyond, fostering a sense of community among players who frequent the fairways. Members and visitors share a passion for the sport within the clubhouse, where social events and friendly competitions bring people together regularly.
