Aiguille de la Vanoise, Mountain summit in Vanoise National Park, France
The Aiguille de la Vanoise reaches an elevation of 2796 meters with a prominent north face measuring between 300 and 400 meters in the Vanoise massif.
The mountain became part of France's first national park in 1963, establishing a new foundation for natural space protection in the French Alps.
Local shepherds maintain ancient Alpine traditions by leading their flocks to graze in the high mountain pastures during the summer months.
The Refuge du Col de la Vanoise, located 930 meters from the peak, provides essential accommodation and serves as a base for mountaineers.
This peak ranks as the 94th highest in Savoy and 25th in the Vanoise massif among 1550 and 480 peaks respectively.
