Paris La Défense Arena, Indoor arena in Nanterre, France
Paris La Défense Arena is an indoor venue in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris, hosting sports events, concerts, and other large gatherings. The movable stand system allows flexible seating arrangements between 5,000 and 40,000 seats, depending on the type of event.
Construction started in December 2013 and the building opened in October 2017, creating a modern venue for the greater Paris area. The first concert was performed by the Rolling Stones later that year.
The venue takes its name from the nearby business district and quickly became a key destination for concerts and sporting events in the region. Visitors come here to experience major performances by international artists or to watch rugby and football matches.
The building is accessible through multiple entrance points and offers extensive facilities for visitors, including private boxes and service areas. For concerts and sporting events, arriving earlier helps avoid longer queues.
The outer shell consists of more than 500 movable aluminum and glass elements equipped with individually controlled LED strips. These components allow changing light patterns that transform the building's appearance after sunset.
