Petit-Saut Dam

Petit-Saut is a hydroelectric power station built across the Sinnamary River to generate electricity using the water's natural flow. The facility relies on turbine technology to convert this flowing water into power for the surrounding regions.

The project took shape in the late 1980s when authorities decided to build a major power facility for the territory. Construction moved forward rapidly and operations began in the early 1990s.
