Montagne des Singes is a forested mountain in Kourou featuring multiple trails that wind through thick tropical vegetation. The terrain offers different route options for walkers who want to explore the forest and take in the surrounding landscape.

The first section of the hiking trail crossing the mountain was laid out in 1985 under the guidance of a local association. The trails pass through parcels belonging to the Centre national d'études spatiales. The summit rises to 161 metres according to the conseil général, and between 156 and 169 metres on IGN maps.

The name Montagne des Singes is not explained by the sources, which record only spiders, scorpions, caterpillars, butterflies and snakes on its slopes. Since the mid-1980s a local association has maintained the walking trail, and the routes cross parcels belonging to the Centre national d'études spatiales.

The mountain is accessible via marked trails starting from Kourou, and early morning visits are recommended to avoid the intense midday heat. Sturdy walking shoes and plenty of water are important, as the paths can be steep and humid.

The long trail, 3,200 metres, crosses parcels belonging to the Centre national d'études spatiales; the short trail measures about 650 metres. The first section was laid out in 1985 by a local association. At night the path is used for animal observation, but the species encountered make a specialised guide necessary.
