Château d'Epiry, Medieval castle in Saint-Émiland, France

The castle features four round towers surrounding a courtyard, with a main building constructed between two northern towers and defensive moats.

Roger de Bussy-Rabutin, born in this castle in 1618, gained recognition at Louis XIV's court before facing exile during the later years.

The southeast tower contains a chapel from the 15th century, decorated with a Gothic flamboyant ceiling and the Rabutin family coat of arms.

The castle opens to visitors during specific periods in April, May, July, and late August to September, with entrance fees of 8 euros for adults.

The entrance bridge crosses preserved moats and leads to an iron gate framed by two stone lions, replacing the original defensive wall.
