Château de Beaumont-sur-Vingeanne

Château de Beaumont-sur-Vingeanne is a classical stone building with a balanced facade that conceals three interior levels. The heart of the structure features an octagonal entrance hall decorated with carved woodwork showing shells and crossbows, revealing the artistic taste of the period.

The building was constructed in 1723 following the design of Abbé Claude Jolyot, replacing an earlier 12th-century fortress destroyed during military campaigns in 1636. This shift from military to civilian use marked a new chapter for the site.

The castle maintains French, English, and kitchen gardens on its grounds, reflecting how its owners shaped the landscape in the 18th century. These garden spaces show the taste and values of the period.
