Château de la Favorite

The Château de la Favorite is a castle in Lunéville distinguished by finely detailed architecture and geometrically planned gardens. The spacious reception halls demonstrate how such buildings were designed for events and the social life of the nobility.

Architect Germain Boffrand built this castle between 1711 and 1715 while serving as chief architect to Duke Leopold of Lorraine. The building took shape during a period when the duke's court was growing in power and influence.
