La Méridienne – Théâtre de Lunéville

La Méridienne is a theatre building in Lunéville featuring multiple levels and early 20th-century architectural details. The interior spaces display classical design elements that reflect the character of a French provincial performance hall.

After a fire in 1908, architect Lucien Weissenburger designed this building and completed it in 1911. It replaced an earlier performance venue near the castle and marked a fresh start for the town's cultural life.

The theatre takes its name "Meridienne" from the meridian line that symbolically runs through the town. Today visitors experience regular performances by local and regional artists who bring the hall to life with their work.

The building welcomes visitors during performances, so it helps to check hours ahead of time. Clear signage inside makes orientation straightforward, and access is designed to accommodate different visitor levels.

In 1998, a large ceiling artwork called "Phoebus et Luna" was installed in the central hall. This piece adds an artistic dimension to the interior that many visitors discover when they first look upward.
