Château de la Fresnaye, Historical castle in Falaise, France

The Château de la Fresnaye presents a main facade with refined architectural elements from both 17th and 18th centuries, including protected heritage rooms and distinct roof features.

Nicolas Vauquelin acquired the castle in 1640, when it contained a residence and additional structures, leading to its expansion to three main buildings by 1678.

The castle contains multiple rooms decorated in Louis XV style, including a library, dining room, first salon, bedroom, and boudoir that reflect French architectural traditions.

Located at 48 rue Clémenceau in Falaise, the castle maintains protected status as both a registered and classified historical monument since 1945 and 1958 respectively.

The castle underwent an eastern expansion during the 20th century while preserving its original elements, with only one of the three initial 17th-century buildings remaining today.
