The industrial complex stretches along the Suisse River with multiple interconnected buildings housing copper manufacturing workshops and exhibition spaces.
Founded in 1854, the copper factory operated continuously until 2010, marking over 150 years of metal crafting in the Ain department.
The factory preserves complete metalworking equipment including horizontal transmission shafts, templates, stamping molds, and an extensive copper object collection.
Located at 301 Rue de la Suisse in Cerdon, the site received protective status as a historical monument on October 22, 2013.
The facility maintains three waterwheel systems, with one still operational, demonstrating traditional hydraulic power generation methods.
