Dance with robots, Robotic dance ride at Futuroscope, France
Dance with Robots is a robotic ride at Futuroscope where ten industrial robotic arms lift visitors in double-seated pods while performing synchronized movements to music. The dance hall offers an immersive experience with precisely choreographed robotic motions synchronized to different musical tracks.
The attraction opened in April 2006 as part of Futuroscope's robot season and underwent updates in 2012 with DJ Martin Solveig and new musical selections. This refresh connected the original robot technology with contemporary music elements.
Dance styles range from rock and roll to salsa, mixing French and international music hits through synchronized robotic choreography. Visitors experience how robots transform different dance traditions into a forward-looking performance.
Visitors must be between 1.20 m and 2.00 m (3 ft 11 in to 6 ft 7 in) in height, with safety bracelets issued after measurement. Check these requirements before getting in line to plan your experience accordingly.
Visitors are greeted by a RoboThespian humanoid robot at the entrance, a human-like machine that draws immediate attention. The main ride uses industrial KUKA robots specifically adapted to act as dance partners.
