Temple of One Thousand Buddhas, Buddhist temple in La Boulaye, France.
The Temple of One Thousand Buddhas is a three-level Buddhist temple measuring 26 meters long, 22 meters wide, and 20 meters tall. The structure contains prayer halls, meditation spaces, and display areas for religious artwork.
Kalu Rinpoche founded the Buddhist retreat center Dashang Kagyu Ling in 1974, which led to the temple's construction. The building opened in 1987 to both visitors and practitioners.
The main prayer hall displays three monumental statues representing Buddha, Guru Rinpoche, and the Green Tara as central objects of devotion. These figures define the spiritual focus of the interior space.
The temple is open Wednesday through Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, with guided tours available at set times. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing and follow directions given on-site.
The temple grounds feature 36 small stupas and display six large mandalas on the ceiling. Murals inside illustrate scenes from Buddha's life.
