Signal d'Uchon, Mountain summit in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France.

Signal d'Uchon is a granite summit in the southern reaches of Morvan with an elevation of 681 meters above sea level. The slopes are steep and demand attention and proper footwear from anyone making the ascent.

This peak was a local landmark for years but gained wider recognition in 2021 when it first appeared in the Tour de France. That inclusion marked a turning point in how the climbing community viewed this mountain.

This summit has become a testing ground for serious cyclists in the region, drawing both amateurs and professionals to its slopes. The steep climb is now woven into local cycling culture.

The route to the summit has varying gradients and can be demanding, especially in poor weather or rain when the granite becomes slippery. Good footwear and plenty of water are always wise for this climb.

The ascent is marked by several sharp limestone outcrops that give the peak a jagged and rocky appearance. These formations make each step on the summit uncomfortable and require careful footing.
