Hôtel Donon, Private mansion in Le Marais, Paris, France.
The Hôtel Donon features a rectangular courtyard with two extending wings and stands at number 8 rue Elzévir in the third district of Paris.
Médéric de Donon, a royal advisor, commissioned the construction of this residence between 1575 and 1577, following his marriage to Jeanne della Robbia.
The mansion now houses the Cognacq-Jay Museum, which displays an extensive collection of eighteenth-century art and decorative objects since 1990.
Located near several metro stations in central Paris, the building maintains its Renaissance architecture with two levels of cellars and two upper floors.
The high attic of Hôtel Donon resembles an overturned ship's hull, while some rooms retain their original painted beams from the seventeenth century.
