Hôtel Bouctot-Vagniez

The Hôtel Bouctot-Vagniez is a three-story Art Nouveau private mansion in Amiens featuring yellow brick walls, slate roofs, and decorative elements that incorporate animal and floral motifs across its facades. Inside, each room follows distinct decoration schemes using different materials, colors, and floral designs.

The mansion was commissioned in 1906 by investor André Bouctot as a wedding gift for Marie-Louise Vagniez and completed in 1911 by architect Louis Duthoit. Its construction coincided with the height of Art Nouveau style and a period when Amiens was establishing itself as a modern industrial city.

The residence displays how Art Nouveau designers brought nature into every corner, from wall paintings to ornamental details on windows and doors. This decorative approach reflected the taste and modern outlook of wealthy families of that time.

The mansion sits in the heart of the city center between Amiens Cathedral and Jules Verne House, making it convenient to visit while exploring nearby attractions. The surrounding area has pedestrian-friendly streets that connect easily to other sites of interest.
