The Pierre Percée stands at 1220 meters above sea level on a hill of Matheysine, featuring an internal gap measuring 3 meters in height.

The geological formation has earned its place among the Seven Wonders of Dauphiné, a collection of natural landmarks in the historical Dauphiné region.

Local tales describe the arch as a devil turned to stone after losing a bet with Duc de Lesdiguières regarding the construction of Vizille Castle.

Visitors can access the arch through an 8-kilometer hiking trail starting from the Fontalon parking area in Chemin de Chanavarie, Pierre-Châtel.

The natural arch formation takes the shape of a crouching figure when viewed from specific angles, with a maximum altitude of 1269 meters.
