Lycée International Montebello is a public secondary school in southern Lille located near the Faubourg des Postes, Moulins, and Wazemmes neighborhoods. The campus spreads across a sizable area and includes classroom buildings, dining facilities, and residence halls for boarding students.
Architect Auguste Mourcou designed the original building in 1859 as a hospital that served the medical needs of the city for many years. The structure was repurposed as an educational institution in 1921 when it began its role as a school.
The school teaches less common languages including Arabic, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Greek, Latin, Dutch, Polish, and Portuguese to prepare students for global opportunities.
